Simon van Rheeden from Oud-Beijerland will join the men’s soccer team of Auburn University at Montgomery Alabama for the 2016 season. The talented youngster from the SHO youth soccer academy will fly in August to play for the AUM Warhawks. The Warhawks will make the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II in the summer of 2016. In Division II the team is determined to compete for the title in their inaugural year. The 19-year old forward from Oud-Beijerland is a real clinical striker. In the SHO youth soccer academy he was guaranteed to score lots of goals.
AUM men’s soccer head coach Wulf Koch is very pleased with the signing of Van Rheeden: “We are really looking forward to having Simon on our team! At the moment we have a balanced team with a lot of different nationalities. With players from Sweden, South-Africa, Scotland and England we have a good foundation for a successful 2016 season. We were just missing a goalscoring forward in our offensive line. With the signing of Simon and probably another top quality forward we are going to make a run for the title next season.”
KingsTalent wishes Simon a lot of succes in The States coming season! Of course we will follow him very closely and will report all of his adventures.
