Hofstra Unversity strengthens its Field Hockey team with Valerie Vogels! In season 2018 she plays her home games in New York in stead of Berkel en Rodenrijs! At the moment Valerie is mainly concerned with graduating her undergraduate Medicine program and will start her graduate studies in the USA in August.
After Valerie came to the KingsTalent office just a few months ago things got real very fast. In summer 2018 the 20-year old defender leaves for the US and joins the Hofstra University Field Hockey team. In 2017 defense was the main weakness of the ‘Hofstra Pride’. All the more reason for the HU coaching staff to recruit Valerie. The current Erasmus University Medicine student sees Hofstra as the ideal destination overseas and the transfer was completed quickly.
At the moment Valerie competes in the 2e Klasse with HV Berkel en Rodenrijs. On and off the field she is a hard worker with great personality. A real winner who gives everything she’s got. The strong defender fits in great in the American style of play, where hard work and physical power are important features. In a couple of weeks Valerie moves to New York, at just a 30 minute drive from Manhattan. A dream coming true.
This transfer fits perfectly in Valeries life and ambitions. ‘This is the ideal moment to pause my Dutch studies and enjoy the adventure in the US.’ As a Medicine student, she still has a long academic way to go. Earlier, Moniek van Aarle also took a break from her Dutch Medicine studies to take on the adventure in the USA. In 2018, Moniek is about to start her 2nd academic and athletic year as a Liberty University graduate student and is one of the most important and experienced players on her American team.
We wish Valerie a lot of fun and success in her American adventure. Enjoy every minute, it’s over before you know it.
